Terra Cotta Pottery
Terra Casa Pottery (TCP) has worked hard to bring you some of the finest Mexican terra cotta pottery available. TCP works with our vendors in Mexico in order to help improve their processes and quality control while at the same time maintaining the rustic nature of the pottery. These terra cotta pots are fired in bee hive wood fired kilns in a manner used for hundreds of years. Mexican terra cotta is a low fired ceramic and is not intended to last forever. The process does however lend itself to incredible artistic expression and our pieces often serve not only as accent pieces but also focal points in many gardens. We hope that you find our range of pots, urns, bird baths, statues and animals to be unique and creative.
Mexican terra cotta requires some care in order for it to last as long as possible. The pottery needs to be brought inside in below freezing temperatures. This type of terra cotta can be stored in freezing conditions if it is thoroughly dry. The life of the surface finish will be extended if treated occasionally with a water proofing sealant. At TCP we like to explain the limitations of each of the pottery products so that people are satisfied with their purchase.
